More than just a scholarship

Stipendiary seminar

The Haniel Foundation brings its stipendiaries and alumni together at its annual stipendiary seminar, as a platform for them to forge links and build up their networks. The programme features presentations given by experts, panel discussions and workshops.

Widening horizons

The Haniel Foundation invites its scholars to Duisburg once a year. At each meeting, the focus is on a current economic social and political topic with international significance. The programme consists of lectures from experts, panel discussions and workshops. The scholars also gain first hand knowledge of the founding company and trace its history.

Strengthening the network

As well as the exchange of specialist knowledge, the two-day scholarship holders' meeting also allows time for personal discussions. The participants can follow up on existing contacts – and make new ones. This is because the Haniel Foundation accepts around 20 scholars onto its scholarship programme every year. Since 1988, the Haniel Foundation Alumni Network has grown to around 1,400 members.

The Haniel Foundation community is the communication platform for all scholars, alumni, partners and friends of the Haniel Foundation.

Stipendiary seminar 2015

“Earning money respectably – value and values in business” was the theme of the 16th scholarship holders’ meeting of the Haniel Foundation, which was held in cooperation with the Klaus Tschira Foundation from 20 to 22 February 2015 in Heidelberg. Around 100 scholarship holders and alumni of both foundations discussed value-oriented business together with Professor Nils Ole Oermann, business ethics expert and cooperation partner of the Haniel Foundation.
